Art Collection "Shushan" Case for Megillat Esther

$1,900

During the Jewish holiday of Purim, it is customary to recite one of the five scrolls of the Tanakh, Megillah Esther. It bears the name of Esther, a relative of the righteous Mordechai. She saved the Jewish people from destruction by interceding for them before the king in Shushan.

David Roytman designed a special case of thick Italian leather for the sacred scroll. The illustration on the case was hand-applied with acrylics. It depicts the moment of Esther standing proudly in front of the king. The sleeves of the case are made of several kinds of wood. The ornate bas-relief ornament completes the composition and adds to its grandeur.

The case comes with a branded wooden box with velvet trim.

David Roytman

"If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself." These are the words I live by, as taught to me by my superior in the Israel Defense Force. I’ve carried these words with me into my company David Roytman, which focuses on luxury Judaica. David Roytman was not built just on the idea of making money, but rather has a whole philosophy behind it.

I was born and raised in Odessa, Ukraine by the sea. Later, I moved to Israel where I studied and served in the army. After I finishing my army service I moved to New York for about ten years. Through the years of my experience in Israel and the States, I have accumulated many ideas on how to decorate and diversify the world of Judaica, and how to move Judaica into the realm of luxury fashion.

Design and drawing has always been a passion of mine, and in 2015, I put those skills to use by designing my first luxury kippah prototype. I worked with skilled leather handlers to bring my design to life. It took three months to create a kippah, which met our philosophy and standards. These simple steps brought us to where we are today the preeminent designer line of Judaica world, also know to some as the “Jewish Louis Vuitton.”

You can find David Roytman exclusive products on display in cities such as Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, New York, Toronto, London, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Odessa and Kiev, and our firm keeps expanding and our firm keeps expanding to further cities worldwide.
