The Parting of the Red Sea Mezuzah
Various reasons and explanations have been suggested for the practice of affixing the Mezuzah. “And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and God caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all the night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left” (Exodus 14:21-22). The parting of the red sea Mezuzah is testimony to this miraculous event.
As it says in “And thou shalt write them upon the door-posts of thy house, and upon thy gates…. then beware lest thou forget the L-RD, who brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage” (Deuteronomy 6:9) The artist created a unique mezuzah. The mezuzah is composed of two waves cradling a clear tube with the holy parchment. A cap in the form of a splash of waves cover complete he composition.
Each work is signed and numbered by the Artist, Sterling Silver.
